this new year’s eve, experience yr own cosmic rebirth and swim with us in a pool of light and sound ☼ our other-worldly lineup and visualz will have you soaring back and forth from astral plane to sub bass. we’re going all out (of body) this year to bring in TWENTY_ELEVEN with, honestly, the best party I have ever heard of. we’re teaming up with WEIRD MAGIC and Vibes Management to rent a gigantic warehouse (10,000 sq. feet off the Jefferson L) and fill it with the best vibes imaginable. you have to click every link below to get a sufficient idea of what exactly we are dealing with here.

♬ ariel pink's haunted graffiti is an avant-pop lo-fi idol that rose this year to the height of the indie mainstream (?), with his song 'Round and Round' sitting snugly at #1 on the Top 100 tracks of 2001 as chosen by pitchfork media, a relevant music media source to be sure. check out the psyched out video Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne directed for this track below. under that, we decided to throw in 'Kate I Wait', a more vintage example of ariel's seemimgly endless selection of videos...

autre ne veut (oesb) Anonymous Brooklyn electronic artist Autre Ne Veut‘s pop is an almost disconcerting bundle of soul, Top 40 R&B, and hypnogogic stylistics, but it’s probably the sheer emotion (or literal “soul”) behind it that makes it most surprising. Marked by cheesy synth tones, falsetto vocals, and the upfront and clear production values of the ‘80s pop greats, his synthetic loner ballads are touching in their sincerity– even if their drama always verges on the hyperreal. - altered zones
innergaze drag us slightly further back into the glorious cradle of dance music. their music, crushed and static, obscured by sound. EBM, coldwave, early techno fight it out for dominance of the drum machine. casually brutal vocals force their way through from the Death Factory. as if Chris & Cosey’s dalliances with the Eurythmics had conjured a restless pioneering demon to duet with Annie Lenox but had instead ended up consuming her. celestial synths coexisting with the industrial landscape bellow.
innergaze’s We Are Strange Loops (from whence this came) is the second release on the already excellent Touch Your Life Records. featuring Jason of Rhythm Based Lovers (more on them soon), Aurora who did this classic video and mastered by Veronica (Vasicka) , she of Minimal Wave Records ownership (and fame) this is full of positive 20JFG karma. you really couldn’t possibly go wrong. – 20JFG
